[Scirehab-forum] SCI Forum Tuesday May 10, 2011

Announcing the next SCI Forum:

Conversations from the Bedroom: Sex after Spinal Cord Injury

What do you really want to know about sex after spinal cord injury? Most newly injured people have concerns about what their sex life will be like. Will they ever have sex again (or for the first time)? Although sex may change after SCI, most people still want to develop satisfying intimate relationships. How do they navigate sexuality with an SCI? Come to this forum and listen to real people with spinal cord injuries talk about their real sexual experiences since injury. Two men with tetraplegia (quadriplegia) and one woman with paraplegia will be on the panel. They will discuss the good, the bad, and the funny. A rehab physician will provide information and answer questions related to medical issues and sexual activity. Note: This will be a frank and uncensored discussion. Feel free to bring your questions or just listen to the discussion.

When:              Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Where:            Cafeteria Conference Rooms B/C
University of Washington Medical Center
1959 NE Pacific St, Seattle, WA 98195

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Meet & Greet! Come to the cafeteria before the Forum for an informal social hour and discussion on “being sensuous with less movement and sensation.” Join Dr. Steven Stiens and a few “sexcessful” people with SCI for a relaxed dinner discussion of sexuality in spite of spinal cord injury. Dinner may be purchased in the cafeteria until 7:00 PM.
